Donald & Ivanka Trump, The Apprentice, and Gene Simmons!
January 31, 2008
After a great marketing stunt from Donald Trump at the Learning Annex, Announcing the Celebrity Apprentice in front of over 20,000 people, I quickly setup Tivo (DVR) to record every episode so I can further learn from it.
I have been a fan of The Apprentice since season 2, and I have seen and followed a lot of marketing and business related shows go up and down, but The Apprentice kept coming back stronger every season.
Up until the last season, where is took place in LA instead of my beloved New York, The concept of the show was to win a contract to become an apprentice to one of the smartest, richest and most popular real estate icons (Donald Trump).
What I liked, and learned from it was all the marketing techniques that was presented in each and every episode, every episode was a new challenge to market a new product or promote a business, and every episode had a unique marketing idea.
Fast forward to this season, the idea of the show is different, the challenge is between celebrities now and the cash generated will go to charities. What a great idea integrating cause marketing into the business model.
What’s even better is having Ivanka Trump doing the promotion and being the ultimate apprentice to her father, her lovely (and now very familiar) face started to show up in the last couple seasons, but I noticed that she is heavily involved this season at the show and promoting in other media, If it was up to me, I would ask her out :-), I have read a lot of articles about her and I just admire her work whether it’s her involvement and management of global building sites, or her new “head turning” jewelry product line, and I absolutelyloutly admire her work from her early days as a model, to approving herself in her father’s empire.
Before I start writing about each episode in details I like to mention one last thing:
One of my favorite entrepreneur superstars (And rock stars) Gene Simmons is one of the celebrities that I respect a lot through his history of entrepreneurial, producing and publishing and marketing work. At the pilot episode he was named as the marketing genius. Need I say more?
More details about each episodes coverage will follow, keep updated through the RSS feeds (Learn more about RSS feeds) and leave comments about this post (I like feedback!)
