New: Guru Of Sales version 1.6!!
May 22, 2008
Why not 2.0?
And why now?
First of all, I like to remind you that back in April I only made very little changes since the launch of this blog. We named it version 1.5.
Just recently we added some more changes but it wasn’t big enough to qualify for version 2.0 yet. And in the near future we will have 1.7 or 1.9 whatever it will be, so keep an eye
Recent changes includes the following:
New pages:
http://www.guruofsales.com/services (not to big of a change)
http://www.guruofsales.com/services/ebay-basics-of-selling (This is a local service only)
http://www.guruofsales.com/jobs (As promised before. I didn’t forget)
http://www.guruofsales.com/advertise (To advertise with us)
More pages in the next update.
New categories:
Some of you may know that me and my guest bloggers ran 26 blogs, I joining 5 of them into this blog, also joining most of the other blogs to be sold (Already have 3 offers on the table). In results of that, I added more categories to this blog to reflect the changes.
New categories will involve more than the main purpose of this blog, to include technology (Mainly gadgets) and environment issues like global warming.
In results of the new changes, you will see much more traffic on this blog and we’ll try to keep it all connected. I am also taking this opportunity to announce that some of my bloggers are leaving to be on their own and will only blog here occasionally. So, within a week, I will post for a blogging job opening (Again!) so keep an eye if you’re looking for some extra income.
I had to include this post under all the categories, otherwise, the categories will not show. Take a look near the end of the sidebar to check the new categories.
I would like to thank everyone that worked with me to make all this possible.
Until next time friends
My Twitter account was Hacked!!!
May 20, 2008
Here is a quick and not too funny story:
Around the end of March, eBay came up with a new policy that prohibited the listings of digital delivery items.
Immediately I closed my 22% income source aka my eBay store, that’s over 3200 items. Why? because it was 100% ebooks (Digital delivery items).
As a good seller, I came up with the same idea that most honest sellers came up with. To burn the ebooks on CDs and sell them as physical items.
Long story short: Having the second biggest eBay store (Items wise) I had to hire an assistant to re-list my items changing each to be in compliance with eBay’s new rules.
That “Jack @##” was invited to do the work from my own computer at my house, then some how managed to find my RoboForm master password, so he hacked into 2 of my eBay accounts and my one and only twitter account and changed the passwords.
Thanks to twitter friends (over 23,000 at the time) I got an @ to my email from some of my loyal friends on twitter, asking me what was wrong with me
I tried to log in to find out and couldn’t so I went to my twitter address and found out tons of spam, links, and bad replies to my friends.
I figured from the links it was the bastard. I immediately went to my other laptop to log in with my roboform and found out that 3 accounts (mentioned above) had password changed.
Contacted eBay and twitter. eBay fixed the problem within 24 hours and twitter within a week.
I needed my twitter fix within that week, so I went and created another twitter account, luckily the idiot changed the twitter username so my name was available and so I took it back.
It was not easy but I’ve managed to get some of my old friends back, thanks to the saved twitter RSS feeds I had.
I am now announcing that I am back on twitter, safely guarded, and more addicted than ever. So go ahead and follow me.
Still not following? here is the link: www.twitter.com/guruofsales
Within a week I will introduce some great twitter tools, and other cool stuff, good for business or on a personal level.
Word of advice:
1. Do not hire someone named “Jim Dandy” from CraigsList.
2. Do not let strangers on your own machines with passwords saved on it.
3. Do not put all your passwords in one place.
4. Try not to become a tweet addict like my self
See you on twitter
ScribeFire released 2.0.2
April 25, 2008
One of my favorite blogging tools and top firefox addons is Scribefire, Although if I am not on firefox, I will be using my other favorite tool (Windows live writer), but I can tell you that this tool is a blogger’s dream, if you are a blogger and you do a lot of online research like me, then you will love using this tool.
ScribeFire is an extension for the Mozilla Firefox Web Browser that integrates with your browser to let you easily post to your blog: you can drag and drop formatted text from pages you are browsing, take notes, and post to your blog.
I think that says it all. I often get a lot of RSS feeds through firefox that I want to blog about. With ScribeFire I don’t have to leave that page, I can actually have a split screen and browse to any page I like and write my post all in the same time.
ScribeFire has just released version 2.0.2 and it is worth checking out at www.scribefire.com
