I think the last thing that Twitter needs is a "paid" version. Mainly because many people like Twitter because the fact that it's completely free. Now about having Yahoo! or Google purchase it. I think it would be a great idea as long as people don't have to see ads anywhere on Twitter. As again, many people like it for the fact that it's ad free. I think that they should just take down the website for one week (I know, harsh), and while it was down for that said week, completely fix all fixable problems.
